KSO Switchgear Cells, Series 200

KSO switchgear cells -292 (Factory-assembled switchgear cells of one-sided maintenance) are installed in switchgear enclosures and are unilateral maintenance switchgear cells. The configuration is based on diagrams of primary connections. The factory manufactures KSO switchgear cells of Series 200: KSO-202, 203, 205, 206, 266, 272, 285, 292, 298, 299, and 299M.

KSO switchgear cells include installed high-voltage devices of primary circuits: oil-circuit breakers (VMP or VPM) or vacuum load-break switches (bb/tel and VBSK); disconnecting switches (indoor DS with grounding blades or indoor DS with molded insulating bushings and with grounding blades); current and voltage transformers; light-duty valve arresters (RVO), surge protection devices (SPDs); automatics relay; instrumentation; meters; microprocessor units and other devices, depending on diagrams and configuration data sheets.

KSO switchgear cells can be used in the following operating conditions:

- climatic characteristics correspond to cold-temperate climates, category 3 or 4 according to GOST 15150-69;

  - lowest ambient temperature is 1° (for KSO cells without heating systems for meters) and minus 25°С (for KSO switchgear cells equipped with heating systems for meters);

 - highest and effective ambient temperatures are plus 40°С or plus 35°С, respectively;

 - altitude - max 1000 m;

 -non-explosive environment free of current-conducting dust, aggressive gases or vapors damaging metals and insulation.               

          KSO switchgear cells come as a metal structure welded from formed sections. Devices for primary circuits are installed inside; the façade includes the breaker and disconnecting switch mechanism as well as auxiliary circuit devices. The access to the chamber is available through two doors: the upper door leads to the breaker, voltage transformer or fuse areas; the lower door provides access to cable connections, power transformer or discharge switches. The inner side of the door has protection shield that separates devices of auxiliary circuits from the high-voltage area. The cell has inspection ports to monitor the inside part of the cell.

               KSO switchgear cells have an interior lamp fixture that makes it possible to replace safely a burnt-out lamp, without removal of voltage.  Bus bars of KSO switchgear cells are enclosed with a cage from the façade.

              All the relevant mechanisms and devices installed in KSO switchgear cells are grounded. The upper door where auxiliary circuit devices are installed is grounded with flexible wire. The lower part of the switchgear cell façade has a grounding clip, which is used to connect elements that must be temporarily grounded to the grounded case.

The switchgear cell frame is welded directly to grounded metal structures. Bus bars can be grounded in any switchgear cell with voltage transformer. Ground buses (conductors) are coated with black paint.

       The upper door of the switchgear cell serves as a panel for auxiliary circuit arrangement. The façade accommodates devices mainly with back-connected wiring (microprocessor units, protective relays, control and alarm relays, gages and meters).
